2nd Breath Scuba Diving

2nd Breath provides a full range of PADI Dive Courses, from Beginner to Divemaster with Master Scuba Diver Trainer.

They guarantee select, personal service with small, exclusive classes for discerning, discriminating individuals or groups. Course scheduling are customised to accommodate your own timetable. There is a purpose-built 3.5 metre deep diver training pool unique to the area - just 10 metres from the classroom.

They also give expert advice on equipment hire and purchase. All Open Water dives conducted in the ocean on pristine tropical reefs - not in murky, cold, boring dams / quarries.

Margate is adjacent to two of the world's premier dive locations, namely Protea Bank and Aliwal Shoal, with sea temperature 22+ degrees Celcius. Both locations offer a dozen or more individual dive sites each. All diving is conducted from boats in these areas. Besides conducting training dives, 2nd Breath Scuba Diving offers charters for the experienced certified diver at both locations.

Aliwal is eminently suitable for novice divers, with a number of sites at only 10-12 metres deep. Besides the numerous colourful reef inhabitants including pretty corals, it is not unusual to see the likes of manta and stingrays. For more experienced divers there are 18+ metre deep sites where large potato bass and sharks can be seen. Pods of dolphins are often spotted, if not during the dive then from the boat. In addition there are two diveable shipwrecks just off the Shoal.

Protea Banks is definitely for the advanced diver and adrenaline junky. Depths are 30+ metres, and drift diving is the norm given the prevailing current. This is where you see the big stuff from large turtles, tuna, sailfish to sharks and even whales.
