
Surrounded by modern office blocks, 34 Long, is located in a Victorian double storey building in Cape Town's Long Street. The walls exhibit an ever-changing parade of works in various media by established South African artists.
The South African art is complemented by a selection of works by internationally acclaimed artists. Visitors may, for example, view works by world-renowned artists such as Marlene Dumas and Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, both of whom are among the ten most influential artists world wide.
34 Long is an independent commercial gallery dealing in contemporary fine art. The gallery puts together a number of solo exhibitions per year.
They arrange group exhibitions, on which work acquired in different ways are shown. 34 Long buy direct from selected artists, they buy from galleries and they buy at auction. 34 Long also buy from individual collectors and they enter into consignment agreements according to opportunity.
They also nurture the careers of selected emerging artists whom they believe have the ability, the commitment and professional perspective to become artists of distinction.
