African Heartland Journeys Surf School

The African Heartland Journeys Surf School operates out of the world renowned Buccaneers Backpackers in Cintsa, with 15 km of uncrowded beach breaks on our doorstep. From our excellent beginner breaks to reputed spots for the experienced like Queensbury Bay point, Yellow Sands Point and beach break and the internationally recognized Nahoon Reef, all within easy driving.

If you are new to the sport, all year is good with predominantly warm waters throughout and ideal learning conditions presenting themselves at one of the many consistent breaks near by. For the experienced surfers, the winter months are best as big low pressures move up the coast accompanied by good ground swell.

We offer various courses at the Surf School. The One Day Surf School is a beginners introduction to surfing. The 3 Day Surf Camp is for the enthusiastic, committed beginner. Customized packages are on offer for experienced surfers only.
