Hot Air Balloon Flights take place in the early morning and up to eight passengers can be flown. Flights last for one hour and are followed by a champagne breakfast. We meet about half an hour before sunrise. The balloon is inflated and you’re off.
Their eldest passenger to date was 92 and youngest 2! A minimum of four passengers are required but at the weekends you can easily join other couples to make up a group. During the flight you are free to just take in the view and take plenty of photos. The crew that helped them launch follow in their retrieve vehicle during the flight.
On landing they pack the balloon up and drive to the breakfast. The entire experience lasts between 4 and 5 hours from meeting to dropping you back at your cars. Your friends and relatives are welcome to wave you off and follow the balloon or just join all for breakfast. Bookings need to be made at least two weeks in advance, especially if you wish to fly during a public holiday.
They also fly from the central Berg near Champagne Castle and from Nambiti Game reserve close to Ladysmith.
