Nossob 4 x 4 Eco Trail

Where the red dunes and scrub fade into infinity and herds of gemsbok, springbok, eland and blue wildebeest follow the seasons, where imposing camel thorn trees provide shade for huge black-mane lions and vantage points for leopard and many raptors'this is the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park.
The Nossob 4x4 Route (Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park), a circular 200km long trail in the park offering exhilarating dune driving and scenic views.
The Nossob 4x4 guided eco-trail runs into the magnificent Kalahari duneveld and allows for up to five 4x4 vehicles per trail. The route runs over three days and four nights and is an excellent way to experience the Kalahari's tranquillity at its best.
Nossob 4 x 4 Eco Trail starting point at Twee Rivieren or Nossob changes on a monthly basis. A minimum of two and maximum five vehicles are allowed - without trailers. Only 4 x 4 vehicles allowed. Low range a prerequisite. From the starting point to the next refueling point is approximately 300 km.

Participants is totally self catered including food, water, firewood, tents and vehicles. Campsites consist of a 'long drop', enviroloo, hot water shower and fireplace without grids.
Equipment includes amongst other things: proper spade, tyre pressure gauge, torch and protection against grass seeds after a good rainy season.
A guide accompanies trailists with his own vehicle and makes regular interpretative stops to highlight places of interest. Distances travelled per day on the trail are between 50 and 65 km. That leaves you with ample time to enjoy nature and pitch camp.
If so requested short distances on foot around the camping site could be undertaken in the late afternoons under supervision of the guide.
