Situated in the heart of South Africa's prime wineland area, Paarl Valley, the KWV Wine Emporium is the perfect place to have a South African wine experience. Here, in sociable style, you can taste and buy the award winning wines, brandies and fortified products of KWV International. The Emporium's wine-tasting areas, showcases the KWV's award-winning brands of wines, brandies and fortified wines.

Visitors are offered a unique opportunity to taste a selection of prestigious wines and brandies not available in South Africa and discover why KWV is regarded as the benchmark of South African wines. Tastings take place 7 days a week between 9:00 and 16:30.

At the KWV, South Africa's leading exporter of premium products of the vine, you'll be treated to an extraordinary experience. Guides with an in-depth knowledge will host you on a journey through the world of wine and brandy as you tour the KWV cellar complex, one of the world's largest.

The Cellar tour starts with an audio-visual presentation of KWV and its various brands, followed by a tour through the barrel maturation cellar, the famous Big Five Vats and the world-renowned Cathedral Cellar. The famous Cathedral Cellar with its high, dome shaped ceiling and lightly tinted windows is very impressive and the five largest upright vats in the world will take your breath away. The tour ends with an informal tasting of six products.

Cellar Tours are available from Mondays to Saturdays at 10h00, 10h30, 14h15 (English) and 10h15 (German).

Also presented is a special Wine & Food Tour that explores the art of combining food and wine in harmony. It begins in the same manner as the Cellar Tour, but ends with a sit-down tasting where visitors will examine the basic components of wine and the role they play in creating balance. Visitors will then savour some unseasoned foods and learn how correct seasoning brings the taste of food and wine to life.

The Wine Growing Tour is designed for visitors who are looking for a more in-depth experience. This tour extends into a tour of the very modern fermentation cellar. Visitors particularly interested in port and sherry will be escorted through the new KWV fortified wine cellar. The tour ends with a formal tasting of six wines, including the award-winning Cathedral Cellar range. When possible, an official winemaker will conduct the tour.

To complete your tour, the Wine Shop offers a selection of KWV International's award-winning wines and brandies. A wide selection of souvenirs and accessories, such as delicious chocolates and beautifully wrapped gifts, are available. The Coffee Bar situated in the Emporium offers a beautiful venue to enjoy light refreshments, good coffee and cake. The Coffee Bar is open Mondays to Saturdays.
