The multi-day Zambezi River Expedition is one of the most incredible river expeditions available, starting at the base of the awesome Victoria Falls. The river trip is a true adventure, camping on large sand beaches on the shores of both Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The whitewater is world class, running class V rapids constantly fed by a high volume of water. Floating on the Zambezi River, you pass the historic and honoured symbol of Nyaminyami. This river spirit is known to have successfully fought the building of a dam and can grant you a safe passage on the Zambezi River.

Along the trip, the wildlife is incredible. It is common to see the impressive Goliath Herons and packs of Baboons. In the water that you float on lurks Crocodiles and Hippos, making even the flatwater sections exciting! These animals are safely avoided with experienced and aware professional guides.

Six day expeditions are available on the Zambezi River, provided by Global Descents. During these trips, all gear is transported on the water with you. This gear is rowed by a guide on a heavily loaded raft carrying everything from your pillow to the evening's food and drink.
