!Khwa ttu San Culture & Education Centre

!Khwa ttu ( means "water pan" in the extinct |Xam language) is the only San-owned and culture and education centre in the Western Cape. It is a joint-venture owned by the San people in partnership with the Swiss UBUNTU Foundation.

!Khwa ttu is situated 70 km north-west of Cape Town on the R27 close to Yzerfontein. It offers you the unique experience of being introduced to the world of the descendents of the first indigenous people of southern Africa.

The San themselves will take you on a journey into their history, traditional knowledge, skills, languages, customs and current affairs. This enjoyable and eye-opening event will stay with you for a long time.

Besides the San-guided tour you are presented creative dishes in the cosy restaurant, unique San-produced items in the craft shop and the efficiency that goes along with the conference room. If you would like to stay at !Khwa ttu for a few days the guest house, bush camp and bush cottage provide appealing accommodation.
