Following on our first article on Medicinal Plants we provide a list of other plants used by traditional healers in the Northern Cape and Namaqualand. People in these areas are using traditional medicines and natural therapies in alleviating health conditions affecting them. Whilst Western medicine is technically and analytically based, the traditional African medicine takes a holistic approach.

 Used for: mouth wash for oral thrush; back pain; used for anointing the body (and as a mouthwash for teething children)
