On Bellevue, we combine love for wine, quality orientated decision making and the manipulation of manageable production factors, to obtain our objective – the production of world class wines.
Bellevue Estate cultivates approximately 192ha of vineyards and yearly produces more than half a million litres of high quality wine. The macro climate of Bottelary, determines this region as a high quality red wine area, with certain selected areas for superior white cultivars, such as Sauvignon blanc. Due to this phenomenon, Bellevue's plantings mainly consist out of red cultivars with a 75% red and 25% white balance.
The Estate is a supplier of exceptional quality grapes to selected clients in the South African Wine industry. They are renowned for the award-winning Pinotage, Shiraz, Malbec, elegant Cape blend and classic though modern Bordeaux-style blend.
Some of the first Pinotage was planted commercially on the farm. A bold move that paid off, in 1959 it won them the best wine trophy at the Cape Wine Show. Fifty years later these same vines, are still producing an award-winning Pinotage.
