A major road runs through the course, neatly separating the two nines on this 18-hole, par-72 parkland layout.
The outward loop is above the road with the back nine or "Next-to-the-Lake" nine below it, next to the water.
Because of the water's proximity, Benoni Lake's closing stretch of holes from the 15th through to the 18th provide a rather stern finish to a round.
The lake runs parallel to the par-five 15th, while at the 16th, a par-three, and the 17th, a tough 419 metre par-four (depending on which tees are used), the golfer must tee off over part of the water.
Middle Lake is not in play at the par-four 18th, but a man-made pond has been built to the left of the green and the approach here is definitely a demanding one.
