When visiting the lovely town of Bethal, do not miss the Bethal Museum. This interesting museum is situated in the old magistrates office which has been beautifully restored to its original 1910 state, and has been declared a national monument.
The 24-part exhibition in the Bethal Museum introduces visitors to a progressive rural community. Highlights are the Kork Pharmacy (1890) and the history of the Bethal Commando during the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902).
In addition, one should visit the Memorial Square where Boer soldiers, killed in a nearby battle, are buried.
