Bloemhoek Dam, is a dam located on a small river called Jordaan Spruit close to Kroonstad, Free State. It is part of the Vals River System.
The Serfontein Dam, which is almost completely silted-up, releases water directly into the Vals River from where it is pumped into the the Bloemhoek Dam, for supply to the urban area of Kroonstad.
Thula Game Lodge is situated on a rocky rise at Bloemhoek dam.
The dam is also the water reservoir for Kroonstad. During the raining season (November-December), the dam will be filled up additionaly with water from the vals-river.
