
Bonniedale is a 1650-ha-fynbos farm situated in the Attaquaskloof in the Outeniqua Mountains between Mossel Bay and Oudtshoorn surrounded by the Attaquaskloof Nature Reserve.
To experience nature at it´s best there are well maintained 4x4, horse-, hiking- and mountainbiking-trails, secluded rockpools in the river and Khoisan rock art sites.
The farm is also ideally situated for on/off road motorcycles with numerous daytrips from the farm.
Enjoy the challenge of over 35 km of 4x4-Trails, easy parts as well as steep sections and water sections in the Kamma-River. Bonniedale/Attaquaskloof 4x4-Trails are rated as one of the top five trails in Southern Africa.
The public road through Attaquaskloof is also suitable for softroaders, 4x2´s and on/off road motorcycles. They also issue permits for the 20km historical oxwagon trail through the adjoining Attaquas-Nature-Reserve.
Explore the farm and its environs on extended hiking trails. Bonniedale is well-known for its variety of plants (“fynbos”), mammals and birds. It is a paradise for ornithologists but you will also find other animals living in their natural surroundings. Different kinds of antelope (Rheebuck, Steenbuck, Bushbuck, Klipspringer), baboons, porcupines, and in a lucky moment even Kudu, lynx, hyena or leopard can be observed.
Guesthouse accomodation is available in the thatched roof farmhouse built in 1890. Self-catering accomodation is availiable in a large chalet, Attakwas Cabin and equipped caravans. There are shaded camping sites,a lapa and hot and cold ablution facilities.
