The Bruintjieskraal Campsite is situated in the scenic Grootrivier Poort - the entrance to the Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area near Patensie, a malaria free area. It is approximately 8 kilometres from the end of the tar road.
The camp is located in a tranquil setting amongst indigenous trees and riverine vegetation on the banks of the Grootrivier between the Kouga and Winterhoek Mountains.
The Camping Ground has nine stands each with:
• Flush toilet and shower
• BBQ - Braai Area.
• A tap with water from river - bring own drinking water
Activities are:
• Scenic walks within a radius of 2.5km.
• Hiking along the course of the river.
• Swimming.
• Fishing - bass, carp, barber and eels.
• Bird watching - Fish Eagles, wild geese etc.
• Game viewing - Kudu, bush buck, ribbok, duiker, steenbuck.
