Cederberg wines are produced by South Africa's most uniquely situated wine farm boasting the Cape's highest lying vineyards. The farm is situated in the Cederberg Wilderness Area, and falls within the Cape "fynbos" region - one of the worlds' six floral kingdoms.
At an altitude of more than 1000 m above sea level, Cederberg Private Cellar is South Africa's highest winery. A cool continental climate, with snow in winter and northwesterly breezes in the hot summers, combined with several different soil types, unpolluted air and crystal clear waters, make this dramatic landscape the ideal terroir for a wide range of noble wines, most notably its prize reds.
The cellar has leaped into prominence on the South African wine scene with an impressive repertoire of awards, including 2 coveted Veritas Double Gold medals, making it one of five wineries that stole the spotlight at the 2006 Veritas Awards.
