Over the course of his illustrious career, Beyers Truter’s inborn understanding of the nuances, intricacies and art of winemaking has earned his red wine international acclaim. In 1991, Truter received the Robert Mondavi Trophy for Winemaker of the Year at the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) and has since won numerous IWSC awards for his Pinotage including the Perold Trophy for Best Pinotage.
Truter’s involvement in the development of Croydon Vineyard Estate, from initial concepts to architectural design; his invaluable knowledge and expertise in winemaking and his continued involvement in Croydon will establish the Estate as a respected member of the famed winemaking community in which it finds itself.
