The Deetlefs vineyards are established in the Western Cape at the foot of the Du Toitskloof Mountain range. It is these magnificent mountains that provide the early shadow formations and long cooling period at night. The vineyards benefit from the unique terroir on the banks of the Smalblaar River that forms the one border. Ideal conditions for enhancing the delicate and complex flavours in the grapes.
The Deetlefs Group has substantial experience in the production, bottling, packaging and dispatching of wines. A boldly individual approach, dynamic team, long term focus and mutually beneficial business relationships have created substantial growth that in turn has contributed to the creation of 30 additional permanent jobs over the last 4 years.
On the environmental front Deetlefs leads the way in the South African wine industry by being the 1st to install a fully fledged biological wastewater treatment plant.
Deetlefs won the trophy for the best young Pinotage at the South African Young Wine Show for two consecutive years. It is the same Pinotage vineyards that are selected for various styles in all of the Deetlefs Ranges.
