Graceland Vineyards lies on the slopes of the Heldeberg Mountains between Stellenbosch and Somerset West. Just twenty minutes from Cape Town, this gracious estate is a haven of peace, offering warm South African hospitality in stylish comfort. For the energetic there is a large swimming pool, tennis court and bicycles or you can visit one of several world class golf courses nearby.
Paul and Susan McNaughton purchased Graceland, an 18 hectare farm on the slopes of the Helderberg in 1990. A ‘red only’ route has been pursued following the soil, climate and slope parameters of the property. 4 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon, 2.5 hectares of Merlot and 3.5 hectares of Shiraz have been planted. Two single varietals (Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon) were launched for the 1998 maiden vintage, with the Shiraz and flagship blend, The Three Graces in 2002.
Graceland is a small family operation and the whole family plays a role: Susan has been the driving force as viticulturist, winemaker and marketer; Paul attends to the finances and administration and everyone, even the children, lend a hand in the cellar.
Graceland Vineyards is well positioned between Stellenbosch and Somerset West surrounded by the Stellenbosch mountains. Two cottages and one spacious and uniquely decorated room offer every comfort. Sample the fruits of the cellar, on the shady verandahs in summer, or at the log fire in winter
