Spoil yourself with a rare pleasure - visit Jakkalskloof, situated in the Sandveld, 8km North East from Redelinghuys and 190km from Cape Town. Jakkalskloof 4x4 Route - the rocky and sand routes are challenging and takes approximately 4-5 hours. It is not a vehicle-breaking trail, except for optional challenges with escape routes that will certainly test your off-road skills. Beautiful rock formations in various colour schemes as well as stunning kloofs are encountered whilst doing the scenic 4x4 trail. Even the Atlantic Ocean is visible on a clear day. Castle Hiking Trail - the magnificent 5 ½ hour trail covers fynbos and rock formations. Beautiful views reward the hiker on the mountains while the silence and open sky at night is quite an experience. Shorter options are available. Game can be seen, and birds are plentiful. the sheer beauty of the fauna and flora makes it an unforgettable experience. It's a wonderful site to spend a late afternoon watching the orange hues of the sunset colouring the mountains.
