Ablution facilities Camping spot

Klaserie Dam is situated in a private reserve. Is is independantly and privately managed although the surrounding area belongs to the Department of Water Affairs.

The tranquil environment is an ideal getaway for nature lovers and campers alike. Although there are no formal activities present it pleases nature lovers and anglers alike.

The dam is pollution free and the water is normally crystal clear (apart from heavy rain storms). There are plenty of camping spots available and it is completely informal.

It is safe for camping and caravans alike and the typical bushveld atmosphere enhances the ambiance while the wildlife can be heard in the background. There are plenty of trees and grass (which is kept short).

There are two main areas - the Island and the Army camp. The Island has electricity and the ablutions are also situated here. Day visitors are not allowed here.

The Army camp has toilets but no electricity and ablutions.

The ablutions are serviced regularly per day. It is fully functional with showers, toilets, basins and washing area for dishes. Warm water is available. Water is fresh and supplied via a borehole, it is safe for human consumption.

Reviews for Klaserie Dam

Mr Regular
Brilliant, basic camping , cheap and peaceful. Don't expect 5 star standards, but that reflects in the price. A cheap holiday at a brilliant location . Lots of anglers thought, but we heard lions, haiannas and loads more. Fish eagles and wild dear on the island.
