Besides playing classical music to the wines, the winemaking at La Vigne follows a traditional approach with the emphasis on strict quality-control to all parts of the wine-production process. Careful selection and gentle harvesting of the grapes by hand, a minimal interference in the cellar through the magical process of fermentation and maturation in selected oak barrels.
In this way they try to achieve an essential South African character in the wines, reflecting their origins in terms of the terroir.
Through the exciting process of blending, they strive to get the very best of two wine-worlds; The 'Old World', elegant, but still complex wine, combined with the South African pronounced, but gently integrated fruits and flavours.
Appreciative visitors are welcome to share in the cellar and the wine experience. As the tasting room is a part of a working wine cellar, tasting and cellar tours are limited and by appointment only.
