Lanzerac has for centuries been a true icon of the South African winelands. This graceful estate has played host to untold Stellenbosch residents as well as visitors for more than 300 years. Lanzerac’s recorded history began in 1692 when the Governor of the Cape, Simon van der Stel, granted a piece of land in the Jonkerhoek Valley to Isaac Schrijver.
In the amphitheatre of life, the peaks of enjoyment are to be found in the babble of a brook, the whisper of a breeze and the cheer of a warm sun. These are the special qualities that you will find in Lanzerac wines - wines as majestic and celebrated as the estate from which they were born.

Come and enjoy the "Lanzerac Tasting Experience", which consists of 5 of our wines, paired with chocolates and cheese. A tempting tasting to tickle the most discerning palate. Other pairings include a Pinotage and dark chocolate dipped cherry - a tasting experience that you will not easily forget. As Lanzerac is the home of Pinotage (the first Pinotage having been bottled at Lanzerac in 1961) it is a tasting that is a must.
