On site at Leipoldt's Country Retreat is the Wart hog pub and restaurant. We are fully licenced and provide lunch, dinner and picnic baskets on request. We also cater for small functions (45 people max) like weddings, anniversaries and birthdays.
Leipoldt`s Country Retreat is situated in the small village of Leipoldtville, between Elandsbay and Lambertsbay, on the R365. The Retreat is ideally situated to use as a base from which you can explore the West Coast and surroundings. Leipoldtville occupies part of the farm `Modderfontein,` and it is here that Leipoldt`s Country Retreat is located.
The core of the retreat is the old homestead dating from 1800, which because of its age, is considered a Heritage Site. The family currently occupies the homestead however the beautiful architecture can be viewed by arrangement.
On site are The Warthog Pub and Restaurant, die Rissiepit Country Shop selling crafts made by the local community, a Museum and swimming pool. Accommodation is also available.
The Warthog Pub and Restaurant provide a relaxed atmosphere for the weary traveller returning from a full day of sightseeing. Lunch, dinner and picnic baskets provided on request. We also cater for special functions such as anniversaries, birthdays and small weddings. If you don’t feel like the typical West Coast cuisine, we can serve anything from Mexican to Chinese.
