For over a 100 years, the Merwida Vineyards have flourished in this ancient flood plain adjacent to the Breede River.
Although the Van der Merwe winemaking tradition dates back to the 1800s the approach to current operations are innovative and dynamic. Wines made from selected vineyard blocks capture the essence of this magical terroir.
Their wines are characterised by rich fruit and subtle spice flavours. The red wines are complex yet have rounded tannins that enhance drinkability, this is what makes the wines so special.
