The illustrious Morgenhof Wine Estate is situated on the slopes of the Simonsberg mountains outside Stellenbosch. This area is renowned for the high quality of its grapes and the distinctive terroir is reflected in the character of the exceptional wines. Owned by Mrs Cointreau, Morgenhof Wine Estate dates back to 1692 and consists of 212 hectares of which 74 hectares are under vines, producing approximately 35,000 cases a year.
Come and have a wonderful tasting of their world acclaimed estate wines and enjoy the beauty of this 350 year old farm when walking through the French rose Garden and entering the impressive 'Tastevin' (Tasting Centre).
Their Fantail wines are made from younger vineyards on the Estate and are available for tasting at the 'Tastevin' (Tasting Centre) too.
Their magnificent underground barrel maturation cellar is a landmark in the Stellenbosch winelands and open for viewing 7 days a week. This beautiful red wine Cellar, completed in April 1995, can host up to 2000 french oak barrels.
Tour groups are welcome to visit Morgenhof - they accommodate small, intimate private groups and can also accommodate up to 50 people in our Vinoteque, which is a private tasting area inside the Tastevin.
