Noon Gun Tea-Room and Restaurant is a home-based family concern situated on the slopes of signal hill, just below the noon gun, overlooking the city of Cape Town.
It’s a home-based tearoom and restaurant that offers traditional Malay meals and sweeping views of Table Mountain, the city and V&A Waterfront.
Your hostess, Miriam, is a wonderful character who will not only treat you to the finest curries and briyanis, but will also enrich you with tales of the Bo-Kaap and life’s experiences.
They welcome you to experience the traditions as it has been over three centuries. Their foods are spicy and aromatic, yet not hot. If however you prefer hot, please advise your waiter.
The menu consists of an a-la-carte menu, that also caters for vegetarians , so those with dietary preferences must specify this when booking.
Tea and coffee are served throughout the day. Alcohol is not part of the Malay culture and is therefore not permitted.
