The museum concentrates on paintings and sculptures by artists from Limpopo. Its permanent collection has been accrued through donations by local artists, including the prominent Jack Botes.
The growing collection of over 700 pieces is the most extensive municipal collection outside the well-known art centres in the country. Included in the collection is the Industrial Sculpture Park.
