When next you are traveling on the N1 in the Southern Free State, why not stop over and discover old fashioned hospitality on the historical working farm, Prior Grange.
Prior Grange has been in the family since 1854 and the present owners, Blackie and Sheryl de Swardt invite you to experience the heritage of the farm and enjoy their Karoo hospitality.
Guests staying at Prior Grange are accommodated in five cottages situated in the garden. The cottages are private and each has its own style and outside sitting area.
Experience the activities on a working Southern Free State Merino farm. There are 3 trails waiting to be explored; the farmyard discovery trail - 2km, the Boer War Blockhouse Trail - 8km and the Archaeological trail - 6km.
Local Boer War tours, guided by Blackie, are available. Contact us for details and rates. ± 130 Bird species occur in this area of the Southern Free State - see which you can add to your list. The very rare King Copper butterfly has the area as its habitat.
