The course was originally designed by the late great Bob Grimsdell and remodeled extensively in 1993 by Golf Data’s Robbie Marshall and Mark Muller.
Originally the club was managed by the Randfontein Estates Gold Mine but today, is wholly owned by three entrepreneurs who strive to make the country club a 5-star retreat in the West of Gauteng.
Randfontein Golf and Country Club’s striking 18-hole parkland course lures golfers from all over South Africa.
The course is in mint condition and offers a great challenge to all - especially the demanding finishing holes, which are protected by bunkers, lakes and narrow lanes of bluegum trees.
The course is well balanced with six holes favouring a draw, four a fade and the balance relatively straight shots. The par 5's provide for a safe route for short hitters while the long hitters can go for the green in two, but at the risk of doing a bit of swimming on the way.
