SAB World of Beer is a fun-filled showcase of brewing. Since opening its doors almost ten years ago, the SAB World of Beer has grown in stature and has become a popular attraction for tourists and South Africans alike.
From ancient Mesopotamia, through Africa and Europe, the tour unveils beer's heritage all the way to a honky-tonk pub of Johannesburgs mining camp days and a traditional Soweto shebeen. Our greenhouse nurtures beer's natural ingredients and a full-scale brewhouse reveals the intricacies of the brewing process.
It features numerous audio and visual enhancements, including a 180° panoramic cinema displaying a short film entitled “Celebration”. There is also a 3D screen in the ancient Egyptian section, a welcome video featuring Charles Glass and 10 touch screens in the Brand Hall.
Making beer making friends goes hand inhand at The World of Beer and to end your visit, we invite you to relax in our Tap Room while you enjoy a glass or two of your favourite frostie. Delicious pub lunches are available in the Tap Room as you take in the panoramic view of the city.
