Sahara Stadium Kingsmead

The Sahara Stadium Kingsmead, Durban is one of the largest cricket stadiums in South Africa and its location, just a little far away from the sea, makes it one of the most picturesque stadiums of the country.

The stadium has been hosting Test matches since 1932. Kingsmead, as it is popularly called, is also significant as it was the ground where South Africa played their first Test after returning to international cricket.

The massive stadium can seat over 25,000 spectators. When a Test series is on in South Africa, the Sahara Stadium generally hosts the Boxing Day Test.

Kingsmead's warm weather encourages a casual and relaxed atmosphere as spectators soak up the sun's rays while taking in top-class action out on the pitch.

And if the humidity proves too much, it is easy to pop down to the beach for a quick dip in the ocean and then return for more cricket.
