Stormsriver Adventures is a professional adventure and activity company based in the heart of the Tsitsikamma Forest. Adventure activities take place from the adventure centre on the scenic little village of Stormsriver.

Stormsriver Adventures is a rural based eco adventure company, situated in the scenic Village of Stormsriver. It’s surrounded by indigenous forest which is located on the garden route on the East Cape of South Africa. The company has been involved in poverty alleviation by way of new job creation in the region since 1998. The development of unique adventure activities such as the “Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour” has been the “vehicle” whereby the company has made a significant difference to the lives of many poor community members.
To date 620 community members have been trained Developed and Introduction into eco adventure tourism. The company provides 4 meals a week to 220 Primary School children.
Other community initiatives include:- • An extensive animal education and welfare project. • Clothing distribution to the poorest of the poor. • Free excursions to 120 poor children each year. • HIV AIDS out reach program. • The development of small community operated business such as a catering company supplying all meals and catering to Stormsriver Adventures. A DVD company supplying DVD’s to clients. These small enterprises have created 20 new employment opportunities. • Development of local crafters and marketing of their crafts.
Stormsriver Adventures re distributes ± 60% of is annual turn over back into the community in the form of salaries, wages and local development. The company has received numerous awards for responsible tourism including, Proudly South African company of the year and Imvelo awards and is one of the finalists of the Welcome Awards this year in the Tourist Attraction category. A committed environmental ethic is strictly adhered to throughout the operation.
