Situated in one of the most magnificent wine locations in the world and gracefully tucked away on the banks of the Breede River between Worcester and Ceres, lies Waboomsrivier Wine Cellar.
On this picturesque piece of land with a breathtaking view of the Bainskloof pass, the legacy of generations of wine and vine loving people are kept dotingly between these walls.
Their wine philosophy is simple: fresh and fruity. By using only the best grapes possible they bring nature in a bottle - as it is intended to be.
Bordered by the river on one side and lush vineyards on the other, Waboomsrivier Wine Cellar has grown from only 4 000 tonnes of grapes to 16 000 tonnes from 22 different farms in only 60 years.
Predominantly used as a bulk wine cellar, red wines are also matured on the premises. Combining old and new, the cellar houses two ‘cellars’ with cement tanks. In ’97 the red wine cellar received a facelift and was equipped with modern French equipment. The white wine cellar houses the sleek stainless steel tanks with the latest in technology.
Visitors are invited to taste the delicious White and Red wines at the cellar, Mondays to Fridays between 08:00 and 17:00.
