Watervale Lodge provides accommodation close to Hillcrest and Pinetown (halfway between Durban and Pietermaritzburg) - in a secure and beautiful country setting.
The lodge is situated on 73 acres of beatifull African countryside, 25 of which are surounded by electric fence - small wildlife - oribi, duiker monkeys, guinea fowl,etc. Great walks & hiking; refreshing drinks in the pub and a pool to cool down afterwards.
Campers are welcome and can camp in the grassy areas close to the log cabins and ablutions or anywhere else on the 25ha surrounding the Lodge, all of which are surrounded by an electric fence.
Wake up in the morning to the sounds of the abundant bird life and take a walk in the grounds where you may be lucky enough to encounter some of the small wildlife at Watervale, such as Oribi and Duiker. A few Hamerkop families have also made Watervale their home.
The more energetic at heart can take a leisure 5km walk up the valley, to take in the stunning views from the 850m high crest whilsy also enjoying the fascinating flora and fauna en route.
This is a great weekend break for families. Fun for all - kids playground, trampoline, swimming pool, darts, pool-room, tv, indoor and outdoor pub/barbecue area.
