1 Found |  Pages: 1 |
Mission villages were established during the 1800's by missionaries to spread the Word among the indigenous people in South Africa. A few historical mission stations can still be visited today. Genadendal (1738), for example, is the oldest mission village on the continent of Africa and was one of the most progressive communities at the Cape during the 19th century.
