Winburg Voortrekker Monument Free State, Winburg Winburg was originally chosen as the site for the main Voortrekker Monument, but it was eventually decided on Pretoria and instead a five-tiered secondary Voortrekker monument was built on the outskirts of Winburg in the 1950's.
