South Africa is home to eight of the world's official heritage sites, as determined by Unesco's World Heritage Committee. South Africa has four cultural, three natural and one mixed (cultural and natural) site. South Africa's rich heritage dates back to some of the earliest human settlements in the world as can be seen at some of the sites.
